Proverbs 18:21 says, "The tongue can bring death or life..." Today we learned that the words we use to share the story of God and our stories with others can produce great things as we talked about "The Power of Story."
"The Power of Story" was all about sharing our faith stories with others, understanding that I Peter 3:15 instructs us as Christ-followers to always be ready to give an answer of the hope that lies within us. I gave the illustration of "The Bridge" to show how God made it possible for us to enter into relationship with Him through the bridge of the cross of Jesus Christ. I also invited (and invite you) to refine your faith story, to write it down, and to send it to me to help with clarity and preciseness. You can do this by going to "Ask the Pastors " and sharing your faith story. Just imagine if we all were ready to share our faith stories with people when we were asked - what a difference we could make in the kingdom of God! The worship was good as always today - I thoroughly enjoyed the addition of the saxophone in the worship. And a favorite part of worship for me is when we include communion - our worship is more meaningful and deeper as we remember what the Lord has done and anticipate what He will do. It was a great day - but what I pray is that this series launches the Journey into a deeper awareness of people who are far from God that God would have us be neighbors to and perhaps share Him with. I pray that the Journey becomes a place that is filled with our friends, family, and neighbors that we have shared God with! God, please make it so in this place! Today we had 155 in attendance.
