SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 30 - SUBMITTING TO THE CALL OF GOD & NIGHT OF WORSHIP
You've been there, and so have I. "Another missionary speaker today - sigh. Maybe I'll stay home..." Well, my friend, if you stayed home from The Journey today because we were having missionaries, you missed one of the best days of the year! Kevin and Brittany Worley were with us today, along with their four kids (Jack, Keaton, Reece, and Nina).  Months earlier when I had scheduled for the Worleys to be with us, I knew that I wanted to do something different than just have them come and present their field (Holland). So rather than have Kevin speak and do a presentation, I decided to interview them while recapping what we had learned from the authority series.

You see, Kevin and Brittany ran from God's calling on their lives for a while, and they were doing well financially and moving ahead in life. But God had bigger plans. And I wanted to interview them and ask them questions that perhaps if you had them over for dinner might ask - but this way, we ALL got to know them.

And what an impact they made. I was thrilled to see so many of our people desire to obey God's calling for their lives, and step forward in faith. In the coming months and years, I will call you toward this as we pursue the plans and purposes of God for our lives together.

If you would like to listen to the interview with the Worleys, go to the LISTEN section of this site and click on September 30th.

Zac Paquette led worship and did a great job. I am excited to turn more of that responsibility over to him as he grows and matures in his leadership. May God enable and empower Zac to ultimately lead the Journey into new places of worship!

Just for the record, we had 155 in attendance!

Speaking of new areas of worship, if you missed it, we had probably the best NIGHT OF WORSHIP we've ever had! Here's why:
  • We changed the atmosphere with lighting and different stage arrangement - it was a totally different place, and it was great.
  • It was more regimented than ever before, but it revolved around the authority of Christ over sin, over the elements & powers, over sickness, and in His teaching. We sang and worshipped and prayed and laid hands on each other according to these particular areas of authority. It was an exclamation point to the authority series!
  • We took communion together which set the tone for the night as people could worship without being encumbered by sin.
  • The place was packed! We had taken out chairs and spread things out, and we easily had 75, which is a great number for a Sunday evening. But at several points during the night, the singing was overpowering!
  • We prayed over our missionaries and laid hands on them, and then were able to take another love offering for them. It was awesome, as through love-offerings from the morning and night, we were able to send them off with over $1000. God is so good.
It was just a phenomenal night, and WE WILL BE DOING OUR NEXT NIGHT OF WORSHIP THE SUNDAY NIGHT BEFORE THANKSGIVING, NOVEMBER 18TH AT 6PM.

This was my first "Worship Service", and was amazing for me. The music and singing was inspiring. The mood just perfect to feel God's presence with us. I look forward to the next one. Sunday night is a perfect time to be together in fellowship, sharing worship with friends, my brothers and sisters in Christ.
