| SUNDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2007 - 3-D LIVING |
|
Week 2 of Just Walk Across the Room dealt with living in 3-D, which was probably as non-creative a way as I can say of having a three point sermon where all the points begin with the letter "D"!
Ok, so the creativity isn't at its peak, but God is good despite, as we
learned about the three D's of what to do after you "just walk across
the room" - develop friendships, discover stories, and discern the next
steps. I am enjoying this Just Walk Across the Room series. One of the most important things that we are learning is the importance of having a deeper dependence on the Spirit of God in our lives. Evangelism - which is simply telling people the good news - is not about coercion or manipulation. It is not about becoming friends with people so as to have a back door to see them become Christians. This series is about relying upon the Holy Spirit as we obey God's word to "love my neighbor as myself." As I love my neighbor, if and when God orchestrates the opportunity, I can share my faith and God's love with others. The worship today was great, as Zac is growing in his leading and learning. I am excited to see the Lord shape him more and more every week. Our people really do love the new version of Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone) - it is powerful, and a perfect compliment to what we are studying about sharing what God has done for us with others. I do not have the exact attendance figure, but I believe we had approximately 143 today.
