Strong relationships with other believers are essential to our journey, both in large and small settings. Connect to a small group; connect on Sundays; or get connected in a ministry. Also connect with special Journey events.

Welcome to The Journey Online, an extension of The Journey Church in Rochester, NH.

Although you will find many great features on this site, it's a good chance you are here because you want to know more about The Journey Church's gatherings.  Actually, people often ask what the church is like, and we describe ourselves as a community of people that love God and love each other. We have a casual "come as you are" mentality (that means you don't have to dress up!). It's that simple.

We know it can be intimidating to walk into a church for the first time, so here are some answers to questions you might have:

WHEN ARE YOUR WEEKEND GATHERINGS/SERVICES?

Currently we have two meeting times on Sunday mornings at 9am and 11am. Both services are identical - casual,  contemporary, and creative.

HOW DO I GET TO THE JOURNEY?

For detailed directions, click here.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT MY FIRST VISIT?

From the time that you drive onto one of our two parking lots (located in the front and rear of the buildings), you'll notice we try to make our surroundings pleasant and inviting. When you walk into the door, you will be welcomed by a greeter who will hand you an information-filled weekend worship guide. Once you have found a seat, sit back, relax, and enjoy the service.

WHAT IS THE WEEKEND GATHERING LIKE?

Whether it's your first time at The Journey or if you've been attending for years, you will never know what to expect! The main worship gathering is designed to challenge both teens and adults in an interactive and engaging experience. From the moment you walk in the door, until the moment you leave, we are committed to a creative, compelling, and challenging presentation of God's truth.

DO YOU HAVE SOMETHING FOR CHILDREN?

It's been said that "chidlren are our future." We think that children are essential to the present as well, so we strive to help our kids grow up learning how to live life God's way. We do this through interactive learning times, games, and activities every Sunday morning in conjunction with each service. There are three specific groups designed to engage with your children and nurture them. Our greeters will help parents find our children's area (5th grade & below), pre-school area, and nursery area (for babies and toddlers), all located in our education building.

DO YOU HAVE SOMETHING FOR TEENS?

While we invite our teens into the worship gathering on Sundays, we do have a teen program (Journey Youth Group, or JYG for short) every Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:30 on the church grounds. Our youth minister, Lee Thompson, and his team put together a fun and challenging time for our teens to grow in their spiritual walk.

WHY DOES ROCHESTER NEED ANOTHER CHURCH?

Quite simply - because the job isn't done yet! We have a real desire to bring the life-changing message of Jesus Christ into our community and to reach this postmodern culture for Christ. Within a ten mile radius of our church live close to 78,000 people (2006 stats), and the vast majority of these do not have a connection to church.  George Barna states that the average church in America has 89 people in Sunday attendance. As Jesus Himself said,  "The fields are ripe and ready for harvest." We are committed to being part of the harvest here in this area.

Our mission statement sums it up like this:
At The Journey, WE ARE TRAVELING...
Toward God...
Together in Community...
To Reach the Culture
