I've read the Bible through many times. And one of the challenges of
doing so is that the Bible can get old if you don't approach it with
fresh eyes, especially those passages that you grow to love. I don't
typically get surprised when I read it anymore, although I am always
amazed at how God uses it to speak to me again and again.
Yet yesterday, I was surprised...

Every week, I get a new chance to give wonderful people the greatest
news there is - that God has plans for their lives, and that plan is
centered around Jesus Christ and what He did on the cross and through
His resurrection...
But before I get up in the pulpit, here is what my day looks like along with my thoughts:

I am as excited as I have ever been about The Journey in the almost 5 years I've been a pastor here! Why? You ask. Allow me:
- We have some great leaders who want to step forward into the next things that God has for our church.
- We continue to gain clarity as to what next steps are.
- Our youth group is growing and impacting the whole church!
- Our woman's ministry is meeting some real needs.
- We have raised over $50,000 since April
- We have completed survey work to push us forward.
- The number of visitors and those who join continues to grow.
- We have cleared 2 acres of trees off of our lot.
- We are exploring other incredibly viable options for advancing the kingdom of God.
- We are looking at various funding sources with some great opportunities.
Forgive me for being excited, but there is more that I cannot go into
detail about - but God is good. I read last week that "Obedience is
the opener of eyes." As we have obeyed the guidance of the Holy Spirit
and stepped out in faith, God has blessed and opened more doors. God is
good.
Thank you, Lord, for Your leading and for Your blessing. May You continue to guide The Journey.

The more I preach and teach about keeping our hearts right before God,
and analyzing our hearts, the more God reveals to me my own heart...
